My Dad rocks a KHS Alite Hardtail, and that is great too. This team can't loose either way you look at it. As far as Cannondale goes, any of their mtbs are freakin killer. Scalpel and the like are just too many moving pieces for me... Can't wait to dropp the $$$ for that Cannondale 'cross bike in August! On that trail you need low gearing for a few steep sections, fat tires, and a tight cornering. One of the Grumpy's guys rocked a cross bike at the Erik's cup race but the course was less technical. Let me know if you'd like to use my ride. Might be a little small and, as you can see, it's totally rigid. On the other hand if you got the hole shot, ran the steep parts and the sand pit, and hauled ass on the flats you might do OK on a cross bike!
