Cult Cross 2008
Thursday, March 27th, 2008I participated in my first race as a Crossniac at the first ever Spring Cult Cross Race series in Eagle Colorado. Larry Grossman put on a great race. It got good coverage from CX Magazine and the Vail Daily News. He made it difficult and fun. Race day was sunny and cold. The course had a mixture of mud, a little wooden bridge, pavement and snow up to a foot deep. There were sections like the abominable snow run. Basically a 50 yard run through foot deep snow. Usually the races on the front range are dry and fast, so this was a real treat and challenge. We had 8 in the 35 cat 4. I stayed with the pack until I crashed in the snow and fell towards the back of the field. I basically held onto my position and finished 7th. It felt good to be there and the people were great. I’m going back this weekend for a little more punishment at the final race of the series and then it will be time to break out the mountain bike.

west coast update
Saturday, March 15th, 2008Work has been kicking my butt lately, but I still found some time to don the Black & Gold and push the pedals at the most recent round of the Soil Saloon series, if not for podium glory, then at least for free shots of tequila and heapin’ helpins of other liquids of dubious origin. You’ll all also be happy to know that I won the Deadeye Award for my sharpshooting prowess with a slingshot made out of an old bike fork and a rotten acorn. You can see more photos here and here.
Many thanks to my buddy Billy and the rest of the Soil Saloon crew for putting on a great race!

Welcome Mike Constant
Saturday, March 8th, 2008I would like to introduce Mike to the team. Mike has been an avid cyclist for years and has raced competitively in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado. I have raced with and against Mike and can only say that I have finished once ahead of him and that was only due to luck. Mike has always been a blast to ride with even when he pulls wheels as he easily finished the Iron Man 110 mile ride (we got lost and added 10 extra miles) Please join me in welcoming another Dad to the team. mike1.jpg (Mike-right side in picture) Ladric
